How do they do it?

I have talked to people online who say that they are shy in person but online can be outgoing. How? I am the same online or off. I find myself erasing lines in a post because I think "I can't post that". Sometimes I will get really brave and send things before I can change my mind. HaHa Usually though I am shy and reserved no matter in what format I am communicating. Do you change personalities online? Or are you like me the same person whatever?

i am one of these people that are more outgoing online than i am in real life. for me, it's because online, people can't see you and can only judge you by the way you talk/post/whatever, so i feel that i can and need to show more who i am. in real life, until i get to know someone, i'm really shy. but once i really get to know them, i open up and become much more outgoing like i am online.

I am the same way in real life. But even online I am the same. I know I worry too much about other people's opinions. That is something else I am working on. Ah, the list continues. :)

I am a lot more outgoing online than offline. That doesn't mean I am shy in real life though. It's easier to post whatever you want online because you know that in most cases you can delete whatever you said later. For example in blogs or on most public forums. It also has the cover of anonymity and no one really knows who you are.
