I sometimes feel as a brit that our contry has to be the weakest country ever which is quite strange considering our history of conquering other conuntries and our history in wars. Why is our Judicial system so soft? Why do we put other conutries before ourselves? And why oh why doesn`t anyone do anything about it ? Are we really just to polite?

UK ain`t weak. In WW2 Germans had problems invading UK, but they smashed France easy and fast. They even went to Moscow but then failed because of Soviet attacks to their oil dericts in Rumania and the fact that USA joined in the war. UK had always strong navy forces, UK had USA and India, but all those colonies become independent, that's just natural.

Yes, but UK still is strong. Think about music industry, soccer and all that stuff. UK is one of the only EU countries that assist USA in war, so you can`t say that UK is weak. Of course, UK have problems with imigration, but almost every western country have this problem.

Britain isn't soft and neither is the judicial system. In fact sentencing has got progessively longer and longer (on average prisoners spend about 3 years longer in jail then they would have done 10 years ago for the same offence). That's the reason the jails are full, it's because they used to let people out quicker to make room for new crims, and now they don't. You shouldn't believe everything you read in the press - half the time they make things up to fill the pages.
