Insurance won't pay for medically needed formula

In Connecticut a mother who just had twin girls is having a hard time getting insurance pay for the formula that the girls need for medical reasons. The formula costs about 60 a can, and lasts only two days. It is saddening to me how insurance cannot cover this. If I can find out a way to help the girl, I will. Health insurance in the United States is heartbreaking.
