I have heard a lot of advertising about the new Microsoft Vista, but I don't personally know anyone who has tried it and I definitely don't know much about it. My husband and I were discussing whether or not to purchase it. We have Windows XP right now and we have no complaints. But like everything else, one day we will have to upgrade. I'd like to hear pros and cons about it, if anyone has any information to share I'd appreciate it.

I use Windows Vista Home Premium. The only reason why I have it is because I bought a new computer and I couldn't find Windows XP preinstalled on any new computers. At first I really disliked Vista because most of my programs were not compatible. Some companies are starting to make new drivers so that your printers, ect will be compatible with Windows Vista though. I get kicked off of the internet explorer for no apparent reason. I think that there's still a lot of stuff that they need to fix with it. I wouldn't recommend spending money on it.

I am using Vista Ultimate right now but I have to use it on my Centrino 2 Core Duo notebook with a 2GB RAM. It is not bad but there is nothing much really to shout about. After awhile, it is just another OS to me. However, under certain conditions, I would still prefer to use XP as I would not have compatibility issues with non Microsoft products.

I have not used it yet. I do not want to get it because my computer is a Comnpac Presario and even though it has a lot of memory it might not take the full version that I want. The general consensus is if you are happy with Xp, do not upgrade. It is not like when we had ME. There are still some things that do not work, and some people have been having trouble so much that many stores are selling machines that give you a choice of Xp or Vista. So here are some links I have found that might help you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Vista http://badvista.fsf.org/what-s-wrong-with-microsoft-windows-vista http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/upgradeadvisor.mspx

Thank you for posting this, my husband and I were having a discussion about it, but couldn't remember what it was called. I don't think we will upgrade for a while, we also are happy with our Windows XP
