Why do we encourage Godmen?

There are a number of persons who have taken the profession of becoming Godmen and representatives of God. Most of them directly or indirectly amass a lot of wealth. Some of them spend a portion of the wealth amassed in social welfare acts while some start educational institutions in the guise of serving the society but in reality get into the business of education by charging very high fees. India is full of such Godmen and it is a pity that many educated people spend their time, energy, efforts and money in promoting such Godmen, just because they feel that they have personaly benefitted from these Godmen. Instead, if they take the trouble of identifying the needy in the world and personally contribute in educating and shaping up the lives of small children it would not only be beneficial to the society but also give them the personal satisfaction of doing something good rather than promoting such Godmen
