"thalapathi" rakamma kaiya thattu song ...can u tell it is the best song of all time for ilayaraja ??? what do u say about its TOP RATING IN WORLD??

In Sri Lanka there are a few Tamil songs that are popular among everyone including those who don't understand the language. One song we were singing for over 40 years is "Dingisi Digare Meenachi, Deingisi Digare".
In the current times the "rakama kaiya thattu" song has mesmerised us. But unfortunately I still have not seen it been sung by the original singer and was unaware of him. Now that I know I must search the Internet to see a video clip of the singer if I can find it.

May not be the best that he brought out. But it has some special magic. I like to listen this particular song at any time. Don't mind listening it over again. Not that there are no other song so good as that. There is something special about it.

No doubt,this one is one of the best of Ilayaraja's songs i have ever listened to,me,being an ardent fan of Ilayaraja.The beautiful harmony of the violins,is an icing on the cake.The video of this song is also attractive, with rhythmic steps which gels perfectly with the song. No doubt it was selected as the best song in the world by BBC, among twenty other hits! Kudos to Ilayaraja!!!

Hi, I love Ilayaraja's melodies very very much and so i think the best song of Ilayaraja is not this one but some other thing. The rakkamma kaiya thattu song is a super song but not the best. I expect a melody to top the list. I am unable to choose a melody from his many many melodies. But the best song in the world surely and definitely will be the maestro's composition... Long live THE MAESTRO...
