Do you earn from people responding to your discussions?

Forgive me for what may sound like a dumb question, I am still new around here. I know that if I was to respond to another users discussion, I will earn from my respose given, how much, depending on the quality and quantity of that response. One thing I am uncertain of, is when I start a discussion and get responses, do I earn from those reponses left by others? Thank you in advance

Yes I earn money with most of my discussions. I have found that the time of day that I start a discussions can determine the number of responses I get immediately. It is all about content so if you stay on the topic of the discussion and add more good content you will earn. The same when people respond to your discussions. The more and the better the content the more you can earn.

Thank you for responding to my question and helping to clear up my query. I had an idea, much would be determined by the quailty and relevance to the topic/discussion. Until you pointed out that the time a discussion started can affect the response it generates I would never have noticed. I guess it is very much like any other site really, there is more activity at certain times of the day. Once again thank you!

I find in the mornings (UK time) .. it's the Asian countries time zones for being busy .. and in the evenings (UK) it's the North American time zones for being busy .. So we sit right in the middle of the two busiest MyLot time zones .. we can 'catch' both busy times if we plan well enough .. but I do find that different kinds of topics please 'different peoples' .. which is just as it should because as we are all of different cutural backgrounds !

I'm sure everyone has already answered this by now .. we get paid for the first response .. but sadly no others .. which seems odd to me as it kind of excludes anyone making a proper discussion of it .. most folks who are just here for the money won't come back again to the discussion .. so the discussion ends up as a long list of folks thoughts .. rather than as a to and fro discussion ... Shame really .. some discussions definitely need further comments making and replying to ..

I never realised it was for the first response only! I hear what you are saying, sometimes discussions do need to be added to. Thank you for your input :o)
