Did the American Government Perpetuate the 9/11 Atrocity?

i see that the BBC are showing a new series of the Conspiracy Files on BBC2 this Sunday evening at 9pm and they are to look into the claim that 9/11 was orchestrated not by Islamic terrorists but by the US government.
Surely this claim cannot be true?they might they did smell the free oil in iraq and gone there but how can they kill their own people? i hope this is not right even if no one finds the truth.

It is so hard to say, anything that the government does, does not surprise me. They do not have the greatest track record. I don't really think that they are our employees anymore. They go and serve each other and the special interest groups. Let us hope that we are not the ones that flew those planes into towers. That would bode ill for the world to know this information if it is true.

Which is why it is odd, if it is true, that the government isn't shutting down the conspiracy sites or arresting or killing the conspiracy theorists?

There has been so many things said about this horrible tradgey that simply are not true and people are always believing all the garbage. For example the were telling us that it was not a plane that went through the Pentigion and that it was actually a missile now none of this is true but some people still believe it. I know the government has done some awful things but come on are they really this crazy.
