I've got a few personal favorites; White Zinfandel It gives one the experience of pink champange without having to pay the exorbitant cost of actual vintage from the Champange area in France. I happen to like Berenger's White Zinfandel a lot; it's a nice light, fizzy, drink that makes everything feel more festive. To go a little more upscale, I'd reccomend Sofia the Coppala "champange" named after his daughter. For a moderately priced European Champange try Freixenet; it's a very clear tasting Spanish champange with a good kick. Riesling Personally I love Riesling, (I've always been partial to sweet wines, myself,) and I've found that one of my favorite types is made by this one company Cavit. They make a very moderately priced Riesling that's quite flavorful. A warning though; Riesling packs more of a punch than you might think. It's like a daquiri; the alcohol sneaks up on you. It's a white wine of course so it's best to eat with pork, chicken, or after dinner with desserts. Pinot Grigio A truly flavorful white wine that's light and fruity. Cavit makes a nice cheap variety but the height of Pinot Grigio to me is that made by the Coppala vineyards. You can also find a number of good Pinot Grigios in Oregon.
