What's the best thing to do in Puerto Galera?

My friends and I spent the weekend in Puerto Galera, which is an area on the island of Mindoro, here in the Philippines. We stayed in White Beach, went swimming, watched the foreign tourists, did a little snorkeling, played a little volleyball, watched the gorgeous sunsets, browsed the shops for souvenirs and got henna tattoos. When we left, we felt that our stay had been too short! My favorite part was the snorkeling. Though I'm not a very good swimmer, I did all right because we had life jackets and there were boatmen around to guide us and rescue anyone in trouble. I enjoyed seeing the coral and the different kinds of fish---we looked for Nemo but couldn't find him! What's your favorite Puerto Galera experience?

I agree, staying in Puerto Galera is always refreshing and exciting! My friends and I always go there whenever we have time (we're going there tomorrow. yay!) and I never get tired of the place. I love snorkeling there, but like you layamaria, i didn't find nemo. haha. although i did saw some blue Patrick Star! LOL! At the end of the day, what i enjoyed most is just spending some quality, fun-filled, no-worries weekend with my friends. ^______^

I've done what you have when I was in Puerto Galera, two summers in a row, 2006-2007. I haven't made any plans for this year, though. I did enjoy my stay there, and yes, it always seems that the days spent were not enough. I wanted to stay there for a week or more! I love the beach.

snorekeling in puerto galera - a family snorekeling in puerto galera (thanks for your pics) *smile*
Most of my online buddies says that the greatest thing to do in Puerto Galera is snorekeling, they said that the marine life is even better than Boracay. The Last time we went there, we only did 3 things, swim, eat & shop. We can't go snorekeling because our 1 year old baby doesn't know how to swim yet, hahaha! Still we had so much fun chasing each other on the sand and building lopsided sandcastles eventhough that our baby prefer to sit on the sandcastle instead of building it. This coming summer we'll go to Boracay, I'm so excited I can't wait for the month of May!
