In the late fifties early sixties there was a book called 1984 by George Orwell. Whose basic premise was a so called benelovent government oversaw all aspects of its citizens lives from birth to death. This is exactly what is happening in the US today. When you combine that with the parental blunders advocated by Dr Benjamin Spock & wholeheartedly embraced by social workers and psychiatrists everywhere. And with the lowering of the educational standards in the US as compared to what it was in years past. You have a population who is eager to not take responsibility for their own actions and who unknowingly give away to the goverment the freedoms that generations of their forefathers fought & died to achieve. An example would be the amnesty offered illegal immigrants. Come in illegally and you and your children should be deported. Come in illegaly a second time there should be a prison term with the cost of imprisonment deducted from the foreign aide given to their home country by the US. On the third illegal entry death penalty should be applied. There should be no trial as since they are not legal entrants or citizens they have no legal rights within the US. That said the US should follow the example of other countries & encourage even in some cases subsidise the immigration of certain specific individuals if and only if they have a skill that is needed within the US a promised job using that skill a clean criminal record and if and only if that job could not be filled by a qualified US citizen. All other prospective immigrants should be granted entrance on a strict quota system . What are your thoughts pro or con

I find it interesting that you decry the lost freedoms of America claiming the social programs and advice of Dr. Spock and immigration while completely ignoring such things as the Patriot act and the Department of Homeland Security, both of which more closely resemble the Orwellian society depicted in "1984" then the things you claim restrict freedom. I'd love to know how you think giving amnisty to an illegal immigrant who has been in the states for decades and caused no problems at all restricts your freedom in any way shape or form.
