I made a steak and it's way too salty!

Well, I used some garlic powder, black pepper and seasoning salt to spice up my steaks, but apparently I used way too much of the seasoning salt because it tastes like an absolute salt lick. Do any of you know how I could counter-act the salt without washing it all off or something? I'm very angry with myself at this point because steak is pretty expensive and I've messed it all up!

Been there done that. The only save I know over-cooks the meat if the taste isn't caught early enough, tho. Soak salty meat in cold water for 2 minutes and re-grill without any more tenderizer/meat cure/salty substance. Other than that, cover it up in A-1. I swear, that's the best I can do for that.

Hello MyLinnsLynn........ There isn't really much you can do to salvage something that has been over salted. I've worked about 30 as a chef and my preference is not to use seasoning salts, in fact I do not add salt of any kind to anything until it's on my plate and I've tasted it. For home cooking when fresh herbs are not available, I find the Mrs. Dash products much tastier than any of the seasoning salts. My favorite is the original combined with the lemon pepper. Tom

All you really need to season your meats with is black pepper and seasonall. Seasonall has all the seasonings you need for your meats. I use it all the time.
