does your baby use the car seat ?

He does not really enjoy it but he's ok with it. If he has his way though, he'd rather be on my lap :)

All 4 of my children are in car seats or booster seats. They are 6 1/2, 5, 4 and 10 months old. The law in here is they have to be in one or the other until they are 8 years or 80lbs. My kids have no problem with their carseats and do not complain. They don't know any different because they have never road without being buckled into their carseats. And even if I lived in a state where it only goes to 4 or 6 years old they would still be in them and will continue to use them until they are each 4'9" tall (which is the now recommended size to stop using them). My son is the tallest at 3'9 1/2". So he has about a foot to grow still (he is 5). My oldest will be 7 this summer but is only 3'7" tall so she has a long ways to go before she is out of her seat.

Both of my children are still in car seats. It is the law to use them here, and a safety precaution as well. My children are 8 months and 3 years. I will keep them in a car seat as long as possible, so they are safer.

no!...we dont have baby anymore!...but if we do have baby, of course we will place the child in the car seat!...

Legally here my baby has to use a car seat, though I would have him do so even if it weren't. He hates it for the first few minutes, but then he'll usually settle down. He seems easier on long trips than short ones actually, because he has time to get used to it before we're taking him out.

Both my girls are still in seats. My 1yr could care less, as long as she's somewhere LOL she has no problems with the car seat. My 3yr old is now in a booster, she likes her 'big girl' seat, never asked to be out of it. When she was younger and still in a 'car seat' she never had a problem with it either.

nope, i didn't buy one. i just love to place him in my lap whenever we're in the car. and i would assume that he won't like it there, because he's very clingy to me. unless i'll be the one sitting in the car seat and him still on my lap. lol

As of today, my baby is not yet using a car seat. However, I am planning to buy her one. Safety is still the top priority.

Yes, my daughter uses the car seat whenever we go out. Before going on our trip to the US last August of last year, we brough a car seat for our daughter Margaux. Apparently, we just used it for about a month before our flight and she only used it around 4 times I think. It has been terrible when we arrive in the US because she's not used to being bundled with it. Besides, we used a different one which my sis-in-law lent to us. But we don't have choice that even if cries, we really have to let her stay there. She ended up sleeping in tears. Since then, even when we came back, we still uses her car set whenever we go out. She's not used to it and she doesn't cry anymore. You are right, it is really for safety and also going to be a lot of help for you especially if you are driving. We are planning to train also my 4month old baby with it. Even with the strollers. As for Margaux, she also doesn't want to ride the stroller cause she's not used to it as well. So you can imagine how hard it was when we went hotel hopping in Las Vegas. Now, I know better. In preparation for next trip and with two kids in tow, I would also have to train my second child to be independent and get used to strollers and car seat. You are doing the right thing to use car seat for your own baby. It will pay off later.

Yes, my son uses a car seat, it is the law where I live, but even if it wasn't I would still use one for safety reasons.He doesn't necessarily like it, but we had a dvd player installed and now he deals with it much better,he happily watches his videos about 95% of the time =)

Wow, I just assumed everyone used a car seat. It frightens me to think of a child in a car without one...They could be propelled straight out of a regular seat , seatbelt or not. And to imagine a child sitting on someones lap in the car? My two year old likes to squiggle out of her carseat, but I just adjusted her straps tighter.
