AOL's Viewpoint. Adware or Useless Junk?

I have read quite a large amount of articles on these "forced" programs that were installed along with your AOL Instant Messenger. This is called Viewpoint. What caused such an uproar is that these programs were downloaded without the internet users knowing it was happening. To put another twist, as you try to remove it, the next time you open any program related to AOL, it reinstalls Viewpoint without you knowing. This is a brief section.
