Problem While formating

I wanted to format my PC and compress two drives together. but while doing so I am not able to view all the the drives .only I can view is the the drive with the OS. Can anybody tell me the reason and solution for this.

while formating within a respective OS the supported file-system drives are shown,so you have to compress or format the drives outside the OS (You have to do it from boot).

Do you have some knowledge about hard drive partioning.If yes use use a bootable cd or floppy and start the computer in dos mode,use 'fdisk' command,find out the d and e paritions & delete them one by one,if you have non dos partition delete them also,then re-create an extended partition and then logical drives,restart your pc and format the d and e drives under dos.

I think you need a engineer to fix that problem...But, you can do one try to fix that thing and that is you can format it separately and then go to the management service and then try to compress them together...If not then call engineer..

That happened to me before. I just used partition magic to merge the drives together and after that I simply formatted them.

well ahve you tried partion magic , i believe you wont find a better GUI for partioning, its not for free but you can always find it on shareaza
