do you scan for threats at regular times or just when you remember to do it?? do you have to check often for hackers, scams, threats, spyware etc. Have any of you had problems since being on this site or have you found it safe. I don't have any of these problems with this site I was just asking???????

Hi ginagee.. It depends upon my time, but usually once or twice a week. I always ensure that my PC is free from viruses, worms, and other malwares. Of course, scanning alone is not enough for you to be totally secured with these viruses on the internet. Your windows firewall should be turned ON because this would help blocking the entrance of these malwares. I suggest also that you use opera and mozilla firefox as your main browser when surfing the net because it is much safer than the internet explorer. I found this site very safe to visit and it is very secured to log in here. That's it. Have a nice day and God speed!

i do all sorts of scan weekly...nowadays the scanners are so user-friendly that you don't even notice them running at background...so it's good to scan always to protect your useful data and information.

I must admit im a bit lazey when it comes to scanning the computer but I do a scan if I have made a few downloads or visited a few new sites as a precausion. Usually once a month on average if I havent had any problems I would say...oh and no I havent had any problems with this site :)

I generally scan my system once a month but sometimes when it detects a external harware when connected to the system for use then i immediately scan my whole system with it as the first priority and leave the other work for later as i treat my system just like my family member.

We just scan our PC when we believe that there are viruses or when after a long time lapsed and we remember to scan it :) It's not on a regular basis although we have scheduled it to be done on a regular basis but I think the task scheduler does not function or I might have not noticed it has been functioning.

I have an antivirus program running all the time and a firewall. I run adaware and spybot every 3 days to get those darn things off that all of the sites leave behind! I run a virus check every Friday in case something got by my programs!

Hi Gina! Well, I have so many firewalls, and security stuff on my PC, that I'm surprised I can ever access any sites at all somestimes!. It is always doing automatic updates, and scans that I'm not even aware of until they notify me that they have been done!! As part of my old job, I did a lot of work from home, and because it is quite high security stuff (Government - asylum seekers - far too boring to go into here - LOL!), they installed so much on my computer to stop it being hascked! So luckily (famous last words), I have had no problems on here from accessing MyLot. It just runs slowly sometijms becayse of all the security firewalls etc.

I scan my computer every few days. I tend to find a ton of adware on it from all the sites I go to.

I have Norton anti-virus and a firewall. I try to scan atleast once a month. So far with this site I havent found any problems. Usually when Norton blocks a trojan or a worm on a particular site a pop-up appears telling me that a virus was blocked. I havent seen any such pop-ups when im on mylot.

Once a week as it scans while i'm out. (it's set) I do before if strange this are happening and i feel i'm going round the twist. (gotta love round the twist) Often it's only when i notice little things which lead me to checker for both viruses and spy/adware. Kudos ~Joey

I am supposed to scan once a week but of course I dont. My anti virus software was set up to scan automatically every friday evening at 8pm. I dont see it doing it now though. I think it may have been taken off when I had to get my computer cleaned. It was doing all sorts of funny stuff and had alot of viruses (despite having anti virus protection). But have had no problems since. Must set an alarm or something for same day every week to scan it. thanks for the question - it served as a reminder for me anyway.

I have scheduled my system to be scaned daily at 12:00 noon. I also update my antivirus daily so there is no chance for my system to be affected by virus.
