Everyone should feel proud of their own country, from mylot I have seen this clearly. If your country's history is distorted by another country, what's your reaction? oblivious? angry? furious? want give that bad guy a lesson?

I'm from the Philippines and our country has been occupied by three different countries: Spain, Japan and America. Our prehistory was not recorded by the natives so the Spanish friars made it their task to do it. It wasn't accurate to say the least. Some of what these friars wrote were clearly misunderstandings and misconceptions about the traditions and culture of the natives. It's sad that this was the way the Philippine's history took its course. No clear record of the past and no clear perception of our identity.

I've heard it early before that Philipines are optimistic but easy to forget the history. History, I think , is the mirror and record of our past, which is very important for everyone of us. Nowadays many Japanese complained that China and other Asian countries still critisize Japan for its past, but how can one forget the misarable past ,especially when the country like Japan do not want to admit its crime.
