Maybe those of you have heard about vista and has planned to buy the dvd. But,is it your pc is compatible with vista? In my knowledge, vista need a powerfull pc to be installed in it.For those who want to check weather their pc is good not too good, there are two ways : 1)You need to go to http://www.pcpitstop.com/vistaready/default.asp using IE not firefox.. 2)If you don't want to use the first step, you can use this step by going to http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=65926&clcid=0x409 and install what you need to install.

Woow WIndows Vista.. what a hot subject i can say. I have talked a lot in my area with many of my friends and all of them had only positive thoughts about it. I can say that i was blow off by this new windows system. Some things certainly lack to it but this new look which Microsoft has incorporated in it certainly do the money you would give for it. I have waited this new system for 2 weeks and here i am using it. It was pretty hard for me to buy it because in my area it can't be found. So i had to ask a friend from another part of my country to order me. I am so happy using it and all i have are only words of gratitdue. I post here a short description about VISTA. Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; some of the most significant include an updated graphical user interface (GUI) and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista includes version 3.0 of the .NET Framework out of the box. The .Net Framework makes it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API.

I run Windows Vista Ultimate for 3 weeks on a AMD 2000 (1.6ghz) 768 meg RAM, my video card is a nVidia Geforce FX 5200 256 meg AGP. And my computer run a lot faster than Windows XP SP2. Remember Windows Vista adapt the speed/memory and a lot of settings to your computer when you install it. Install this little software from Microsoft to test your computer and software installed for compatibility BEFORE buy Windows Vista : http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/upgradeadvisor/

My computer is compatable with everything I think, its just Vista isnt compatable with my PC, not the other way around ;) While Vista is a nice operating system (I beta tested it) im not moving to it for a LONG time, its not going to show its true worth until a service pack is released, they're blaming pirates (as usual) for its poor sales but they have to remember that Direct X 10 is a new thing and needs new hardware for proper usage, Vista uses more resources and why should people upgrade when XP works better and has more diver support? its easy to blame piracy when things dont work like you want them to but in this case theres no working pirated versions for Vista, so their claim is absurd.

Hi awqi_zar, My computer is not compactible with Vista, the requirements for this OS is very very high as compared to about 3 years old computer, i am having 1800+ xp amd athlon processor which i believe doesnt support the processing needed for Vista, second my motherboard is micro ATX one and maximum ram that i can fill in is 512 MB. :(. i want to upgrade my pc. but it seems like i will end up spending alot since i would have to go for a complete upgrade.as good as a brand new computer....

My computer can totally not handle Vista. For example I only have 128 mb ram (sigh). That is why I'm going to buy a knew computer with vista, then I will know that the OS will run smoothly.
