My sisters and I lost our dad 18 years ago and we lost our mom yesterday. It was strange getting over my dad's death, he had been in a nursing home for about 9 months and was very sick, he was only 52. My mom was 77 and had a long hard battle with heart disease, the last couple of weeks her heart and kidneys were playing this sort of tug of war, I think her kidneys lost as they were the first to go...I'm not quite sure how we'll deal with this loss, now we have no parents, that seems so weird to me. I'm 41 and I don't know what I'll do without my mom. I have 2 sisters, I am a stay at home mom so I took her to most of her doctor appointments, and she and I went to breakfast every Friday morning, and for the 19 days she was in the hospital I was with her 12-14 every day, I don't know what I'll do with all my time now, and I always still called my mom when I needed a friend. I guess you can say that I already feel a greater loss for my mom.
