What is the number that appears underneath or beside the screen name?

New to MyLot- just wanted to know what that is and what it meant and how does it get higher?

On the right hand side of your screen name is your post count. On the left hand side once you have 100 posts or more you get a star with your rating.

I assumed it was post count, but too often recently I have been making posts with that number staying the same. What's going on?

Sometimes the site takes a bit to update it seems.
