Netflix play trics!

We are using Netflix from last two years. But from last few months we are not that happy with their service. Sometime they do trick. They accept movies after a gap so that we can get a estimated number of movies in a particular month. But we are paying them for unlimited number of movies. This is not fair. Have you experienced something like this with your movie rental service? What movie rental service do you use?

Oh ya, the same thing happened to me a few months back, they will either take forever to mail the next movie and as they make sure they mail it around Saturday so we get it only on Monday! I had anyways decided to stop Netflix since I was done watching movies and soaps. It's called "unlimited" but in the end we get to watch 5 movies at the most in a month.

Yes, you are very right about the saturday posting. This is irritating, because you want movies specially in weekend.

I do not use a movie rental service, but I heard about this on a consumer program on the news recently. I believe there was a class action lawsuit against them.

I use netflix and have for years. I live a little further away from the home office, so mine take about 3 days to get to them and about 3 days to get back to me. Yes there will be a gap if you live farther away. It is not their fault it is the mail service. I lowered my membership to just 6 per month and I usually receive that many. Figure out how many you receive a month and lower your membership so you will not be paying the larger amount for less movies.

We are not far away from the office, and we get the movies in next day after they post or when we post they get it next day. But after we finished watching a particular number of movies they start to make dealy for accepting the movies or posting them. In this way the make sure that we can watch some limited number of movies, though we are paying for unlimited plan.

I used to have this problem and yes they all do this time to time. I really hate it when they take advantage of people, and they do this all of the time. And you know what? A lot of people don't even care or do anything about it becuase it is not that much to them in the long run, and THAT is what they are counting on.

i used to have blockbuster, but after a while i got sick of it because they keep on saying they cant bill my account so i was pissed because i know i got everything right. beside that they are pretty good, plush they give you a free coupon each month to use in the store. but now if i want a new movie i can buy them very cheap so it is all good.

I cancelled mine after only 2 weeks, as I never seemed to have the movies when I wanted to watch them. If I sign up with anyone again it will be blockbuster. With them if your mailed a movie you can take it to a blockbuster store and trade it in and not have to wait. So you know if you get one on Thursday you know there is no way to get a new movie by mailing in for the weekend and you can go there and trade and get something new. But the draw back I believe is that movie must be returned to the store. Always a draw back to anything I guess. :)

We are also thinking to take Blockbuster. Store return facility is the good thing about them.

I too noticed that..the longer i was a custmer..the slower my movies came and less available new movies..Listen to this!! I stopped using it for a month..and i posted a forum here that asked about SAW 3..and one lady said she has been waiting for weeks!! I updated my account and posted saW 3 that i wanted and i got it right away!! Ok yay for me! but what about that lady that was waiting way longer than me? How fair is that? Although i am personally prety happy with them because ilive so far away from town and its really convenient for me..they do rip off many people..

We have had no problem with them. If you are contact them, they normally respond and the situation improves. We have had minor things like a dvd arriving broken and we lost a sleeve once and then once there was a dvd that just would not play in our machine, some foreign movie. They made it all good. The communication was great. We too get the unlimted number 4 at a time. They do alter what they send me due to the availability at times. That is fine, it is off my list anyway!!

I've been a member for well over a year and I've never had any problem. I get my movies the day after I send them in. Now the problem I'm having is mine. I keep letting the movies sit there for weeks because I'm always on mylot and don't watch them. I have to use the kitchen tv because everyone uses my dvd player.

I always wondered about those companys that advetise unlimited movies. I, myself have never signed up for any mailorder rentals. We just dont watch that much movies. I agee that it is not fair but I guess that was their plan all along so they could make money.

i know their mail out service sucks lately.i have netflix. Like we get 5 at a time. So we watch them over the weekend, and then on my way to work on monday i will stop at the local post office and drop them off. Their return service sucks. It goes in the mail Monday and we usually dont get any others till Thursday id love to know what happend to their 24 hour turn around time. i have been thinking of switching to block buster since you can exchange them either via the mail or in the store

I have subscribed to both Netflix and Blockbuster. I had the same problem as you sweetlady, the movies seemed to start taking longer to get to me the longer I was a member. I got sick of it around the time Blockbuster started their service. I love Blockbuster! I get more movies than I can even watch. By the time I am returning one they have already sent me another one. I also like that with the coupon that you get each month you can also get a game. I would suggest you try Blockbuster.

I've been with netflix for a little over a month now and hopefully won't have to experience such a dirty little trick. Everything seems to be running smoothly so far.

I haven't really noticed a gap. I live right near a mailing city. Usually we get lucky and the DVD comes right from there. If it didn't come from there, I try to mail more than one DVD in a envelope back so it will get there faster. I probally don't notice a gap because we also have 7 DVDs that come. There is always a DVD or 2 here for us to watch daily.
