Pinoy Politiks

Philippines

The streets are again filled with posters, billboards and streamers of politicians who are running for office. Just last weekend national politicians came to our city for their campaign. We've had our fair share of corruption, misery, poverty and everything in between. We've been fooled more than enough. I hope it has taught us who to vote and who NOT to vote. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!

yes, all of them are busy again posting banners and campaining especially on television. They always appear when there is election but after they won, they are gone and silent busy corrupting the money of poor people.

And that's even worse than them forgetting about the garbage they left on the streets. Thanks for the reply.

How I wish that there are a lot more people like you. But sadly, majority of us Filipinos are just blinded by all the glitters and glamor that are presented to us by politicians. And I highly doubt that in the next election will be any different. Think about it, after the fall of Marcos, we should have been wiser, aren't we? But we're not. It would seem that our country cannot break from the endless, mindless cycle of corruption, poverty and everything else.

I do hope that what you said is true, though I will not be optimistic about it. If anything, it would seem that past events have not taught the majority of us anything, and the past seem to be likely to be repeated.

It's really hard to know who is right and wrong candidate right now. We always say that we must vote wisely but its really hard because no matter how we vote wisely there is always massive vote buying and fraud in our elections. I really do think that elections in Philippines are simply waste of money.

Thanks for the response. Do you think things are ever going to get better? When Erap was ousted everyone thought things were gonna be different, A LOT different. But where are we now?

but who is the right person to vote? -should we be entharalled if he is the husband of a Megastar and a step-dad of a hot daughter - should we choose someone who operates Jueteng and is involve on other illegal activities including assasination just to mention a few - a bench underwear hunk? - MMFf best actor who have likewise portrayed the role of Jose Rizal.. could he do best in making laws that matter to the majority than just with the entertainment industry other than acting - a dancing queen - a tv host - the owner of camilla homes who have proved to be an ingrate and a hypocrite and not to mention balimbing - the 'distant' cousin of Diana Zubiri who is bombarded with issues on corrupting the agriculture industry and the farmers in their place.. biofuel my as* - a tv reporter.. applause applause on reading teleprompt... and yeah... was it his husbnd who killed that distingushed family man and his bestfriend.. tsk tsk..someone who is vocal on women's issues if it is directed to the limelight.. tsk tsk - - gosh... i guess i should be really wise in choosing... and yeah i forgot... who again to vote...
