How many of you use internet abbreviation while chatting or emailing?

When you see people use an internet abbreviation that you don't understand, do you ask them (and/or someone else) about it, or just try to look it up online somewhere?

i m quite new to internet jargon and shortcuts some abbreviations baffle me like the one used very often in mylot is LOL i dont know what it means

I always ask! There are so many abbreviations and some don't even make any sense! I don't use them in emails just on ISM. I believe though that there are places to look up these abbreviations, and one day I'm sure there will even be a dictionary for text and computer language; thats if there isn't allready one!
