I've heard about a breed of cat called munchkin. I thought it was a joke at first. But yes! there is such a breed - i was amazed, as this was the first i'd heard of it, but i checked my many cat books. it showed up in only 1, but it is fairly recent breed, and not one accepted as a true breed by all cat associations. it's main characteristic id the very short legs and comes in about every color and pattern and is supposed to be very good with children by temperament. FYI it's in the book "ASCPA complete guide to cats" by james r. richards, D.V.M., published 1999 by crhonicle books Llc. page 127.. woohh a long post

I have a munchkin cat. His name is Cocoa and I got him from a Freecycle member that needed to find him a home. He has a chocolate brown under coat with dark brown to black guard hairs. He's quite handsome with big green eyes. I love his stubby little legs. He is very friendly..so much so that he's intrusive. He wants to be held and talk to you all the time. He is my chihuhua's playmate...lol
