Hi everybody! Should the resturant/hotels owners levied the penalty on their customers who waste the food after ordered, to control the food-westage?

Restaurants should reduce the portions so that waste is kept to a minimum. You levy people a fine for wasting then you will lose business. In fact if you do reduce the portions that also can lose you some busines.. Not sure that there is a good solution to this. Our parents should teach us about portion control and ordering only what we will eat.

I don't think so because if the person pays for, why charge them (or fine them for better words) for not eating it. If you are in fact menaing that they refuse to pay for it after ordering then yes but if you mean that they ordered too much and didn't eat it all, then I say no. Wouldn't that just make the restuarant rich without putting the money to good use?
