How to make e-commerce business?

Recently, I have been thinking about people making money over the net and become millionaires. When I really analyze the situation it looks like more opportunities are available in western world rather than eastern countries. Is this a kind of discrimination or control of opportunity only to westerners? So, far I have never heard an asian guy become millionaire over the net, why is it so? Anyway, should anyone know how it works in details please help me....

Before you dwell to indepth into E-Commerce site, the most important criteria you should consider and do a little research on is the product you plan to be selling and what is the competition like on the net.
Afterwhich... its basically setting your site up with domain name, webhosting, payment gateway and merchant account among the most basic first steps to take.
