The health department needs to do a better job watching these restaurants. This is disgusting and can get people very very sick.

Hi! I just read about this story in a UK newspaper this morning. It's crazy isn't it?!
It must have been going on for sometimeto be such a big problem. And it's quite easy to know if you have a rat problem.
I can't believe it got to that level. It will certainly make me take more notice when I go into somewhere to eat!

Hi there, yes, it is crazy but also disgusting. How could the staff have not known? Rats leave noticible droppings. They had to know, I could not imagine working there much less eating the food. I will be taking notice of the places I eat too! Thanks for responding, take care...

I dont remember this but its terrible.I have ate at kfc in a while but after reading this its a big turn off.

Yes, this was on the news, it happened in NYC and there were videos all over the internet. It is a sad thing and I can understand your feelings that it is a big turn off. I am going to try to eat better, cleaner and safer, at home...Take care...Thanks for responding.

Thanks for responding, it sure is disgusting. You had to see the video, really bad. We all eat out but now I am going to be more careful. Recently there was a rat found in the food in a chinese resturant in NY. Gross!

I saw some of the footage on YouTube yesterday...
I love rats. I really do. My partner and I have 13 very pampered and spoiled pet rats. They're very clean little critters, who groom frequently and don't like being kept in filth. However, while I love my rattie-boys, I don't share space with them while I'm eating. Clean as they are, rats are also incontinent. Having them run rampant in a restaurant is, in short, disgusting.
I only hope there is a humane option for the little fur-kids who were hanging out for the food source and shelter.

ewww.. how can that be.. once in a blue moon... i will ask my mother to take me there to eat fried chicken.. why are they so not hygienic? do anyone reported to the health officer? oh.. sorry.. i didn't notice that it's on the news.. wow.. then it must be a big issue.. but i guess it's okay since nobody is sick due to the rats.. anyone? no right? ..erm.. they alweays say that kentucky fried chicken have lots of chemical in it.. what do you think? is it true? they say it's fattening because those chemical actually react with our body and make us fat!.. how true is this?

Hi there, thanks for responding. I don't claim to know why they are so nasty. I could not figure that out if I lived til I were 500 years old. People work in these places yet no one seems to have seen a problem. I do think that the fried chicken places have lots of chemicals and fats that we do not need. I for one am not going there ever again. I am having fun eating at home. Take care now...be careful where you eat!

The story is just frightening to me!!! It is unbeleivable that the management would allow the rodent problem to get so out of control. It is just a sad reminder of the chances you can take with the health of your family just by patronizing an establishment such as this one. This is a serious health code violations that can put your family's
life at risk!!

Thank you for responding. You are so right, we just take it for granted that food establishments are as clean as we are. We run so many risks and we don't realize it. Management had to know of this problem, the workers had to know. People can make anonymous calls and not have to worry about being taken to task for telling, but no one did. Did you see the video? It was so bad....

just dont feel like going to any faast food corner from today. i'll open my own fast food line now .
now, if u see this, one cant help but to ask that what do the govt. there do?

Hi there, sorry I have not responded in so long, you are right, it really is disgusting. I have not been to a Chinese resturant since I heard of their problem in a NYC resturant. I will not be eating Kentucky Fried Chicken anymore and I am enjoying eating at home. It seems as though lately, it just seems to be one place after another having problems. The government does not care...they let their people submit false reports and I think that is not very nice. Thank you for responding...Take care aweins...

Well, I used to like KFC years ago...when I was a kid my Mom won a contest. We got free KFC every Sunday for a year...needless to say I had my fill. But I have not liked their food in years. The quality is not the same as it was long ago. Thanks for responding and take care...

why does kfc always have issues about rats? our professor told us a story about this. but its another food chain. cant remember much. that they have fried a rat? and it was served to a customer and the crew did not even noticed he served a FRIED RAT! eeewwwwww!!! it makes me sick just thinking about it! but i still eat a foodchains! bec. its very accesible! waah! its really not safe to eat outside. anywhere. even at fancy restaurants actually. you dont know what happens in the kitchen!

Thanks for responding katherineA, you said it right...even the fancy resturants are bad at times. I watched a show recently where they had hidden cameras in the kitchens and it was not pretty the things that some cooks do. Drop food on the floor, serve it, spit in it, serve it and more things I will not mention. The show really made me sick. I have been eating at home and enjoying it. Take care...

You are right, the fried chicken has too much fat and chemicals. But I used to love it, I would not eat it ever again. I guess the health inspectors are not doing their jobs properly, we keep hearing of resturants with problems lately...thanks for responding...take care...
