szilárd aigner - He is a favourite hungarian meteorologist.
I am not sure in it. They mostly say the truth. I mean the Hungarian. Yes of course sometimes it happpen that they say the opposite. Last year one of our oldest welknown favourite meteorologists (szilard aigner) said, that the summer would be very cool, and rainy, and there would be warm day only for 1-2 week in the end og july. The bigger part of HUngarians decide to go abroad to spend their holiday, not to the Balaton, and to hungarian cities. There were no reservation in the hungarian hotels for the whole summer. It was terribly hot last summer for weeks, without RAIN! He appologized later, but the Hngarian touristic office wanted to take him to the court because of the it was his mistake, that hungarian hotels and pansions lost a lotof money. After it he decided that he would say never again the weather months before.

They're wrong because weather is influenced by a multitude of factors that can't be anticipated all in the same time. I don't even watch the weather forecast anymore...

Yes, they are wrong very often, but they are doing what they can and in my opinion, lately they don't fail as much as many years ago. Ever since I had the age of reason, and I started to watch the weather forecast at television, I have noticed the mistakes. So, it has always happened and I think that it's because, in all cases, it's very difficult to guess correctly the future. I think that the wind changes its direction constantly, so for the people who study the weather, being able to know how the weather will be like in 4 or 5 days must be as to win the pools. I watch it more as a pastime than as an information program. At least, the weather of that day is always correct[:)].

Weather is unpredictable and does not fit neatly inside a box. The machines are based on science and can only appear to work on statistics. Satellites can be helpful to tell part of the story. The other day a weather man was interviewed and he said if the computers are predicting something and he knows of a folk lore that indicates otherwise, he picks the folklore over the machine. Wise in my views. Technology is not always the best thing. I take three weather stations and triangulate for my own accurate weather prediction. Also living out I can see the weather most of the time approaching me. They admit that they are guessing anything more than about 3 days out.
