Does anyone have or know any home remedies for food poisoning? One of my friends went out to dinner two days ago and now she's suffering (vomiting and pain). She says that some of the chicken she ate wasn't cooked thouroughly.

room temperature ginger ale,as much as you can get down. The worst should be over in about 12 hours, with another 12 or so of minor discomfort. And air the room out- because flatulence is part of the cleansing process. Good luck!

Okay, Arcadian, she just had her sister bring her home some ginger ale. So I'll certainly tell her to drink it at room temperature. And to air out the room because of the flatulence.

Fresh squeezed orange juice should do it. During the recovery period. Stay away from solid foods for a few days. Fruits will be alright for your stomach.

Just get plenty of fludis and wait it out. If it takes more than a few days to go away go see the doctor.

I'm guessing I'm a little late to respond to this one but here is a great site for home remedies. I already searched food poisoning for you. 23 Controlling Methods for Food Poisoning: http://www.mothernature.com/Library/Bookshelf/Books/47/62.cfm

Yes, lilaclady, I've taken apple cider vinegar for a lot of gastric maladies. My mom first told me about it. At first I was sceptical but was extremely suprised when it did work. I've also used it for menstrual cramping.

I'm sure it was pretty bad for your son, Bicklelady, being hospitalized for food poisoning. I once was food poisoned at my job at of all places a hospital. It was so painful that I couldn't urinate without pain and the doctor gave me a pain shot and I almost fell asleep while driving home. But my friend is okay now. Thank God!
