Most department stores carry ready to wear clothes. The Fabrics have low quality. After two or more washing the color fades and the fabric shrink. Almost monthly new fashion on clothes are coming out.

I'm wondering what other type of clothes there is besides "ready to wear". Aren't all clothes ready to wear? You buy them, take them home & wear them. Maybe I'm not understanding. There is definately a difference in the quality of some clothes. I wouldn't buy something cheap or at a discount store and expect it to be of the same quality as if I'd spent a lot more money on it.

It is more expensive to go to a dress maker and make a unique design for your clothe.

i agree with you department stores have have very cheaply made bad quality clothes the seams never seem to last very long they are obviously not made to last but made to sell that is why i like to make my own clothes that way i know that they are well made i agree that the clothes do start to fade after just a few washings and i have the worst trouble with the fabric of blue jeans shrinking and then ending up being too short for me to wear...and jeans are expensive so thats just a wasted forty bucks

just be practical in choosing clothes . . . if you go on fashions just buy those at reasonable price that you can use the clothes til the color fades as the fashion goes out too. . . you can get a better quality items of lower price when you don't care of any signature ones . lots of product competition right now that companies will not overpriced their items that are in fashion at the moment . try to go on special SALE days or at the flea market you can get a much more cheaper & beautiful clothings too .

Yes, alot of the clothes are not of good quality. After one washing the clothes look faded. I try to hang them to dry to avoid this.

I agree that the quality does not match the price in department stores. There are a few brands I will buy for my kids, but I'm very picky. I sew about 50% of the clothing for my girls. It's not much cheaper, but I can get what I want and know that the quality is better.

MOst of my clothes are tailor made so I wouldn't not know a whole lot about this.
