The Problem with Alcohol....

Figures published on Thursday showed alcohol-related deaths have doubled in the past 15 years in UK. Many people do enjoy a drink, but can we ignore the rising tide of deaths from cirrhosis (of the liver)? Drinking in Moderation also Reduces Coronary Heart Disease Risk in Healthy Men. Do you think Alcohol advertising should be totally banned in a bid to curb a growing drink problem? I think it would be hard to move to a total advertising ban straight away, but maybe we can work towards it? Do you have an Alcohol problem where you live?

I have never been a person to enjoy getting totaly drunk. I do like the occasional drink but, Im not overly keen on it and could live without it. You see more and more people using it as an excuse to be more confident and be who they want to be, when they could achieve this with just being themselfs more

We are supposed to be living in a free country, already there is to much control over our lives, banning everything that might possible harm us just for our own good means we lose control of our lives and the majority of people don't have a problem! I actually think banning makes things worse its like a red flag to a bull!

drinking has been the most talk issue over and over again.mostly involved in drinking are not from the grown up..but as well as kids today.its actually okay to sell this coz long ago..people drink because they want to avoid from getting pulmonary endema with it gets so cold for the weather..it helps to make the body feel hot and comfy..when the time has developed..drinking has become more commercial..it has even become socially involved for some people when they have to use this scenarion as a way of showing they want to have strong relationship.at the area where i live..everybody is a drinker..even the wives..it has been going on for ages..they never stop..so its obvious..it will not stop..

An adpertizing ban would not be fair to the company. I am not an addict (never touched the stuff) but I think that if we banned it, thousands of people would be upset. I think the proper way to control the useage is to patrol it more. It has risen in the past in the USA as well. I do think we need to do something but I don't think banning all adpertizing is the way to go.

Well the worst mistake out dear UK made is the 24 hour Pub opening, which to me is encouraging People to drink even more, it is not just Men anymore Women are getting just as bad now. As far as I am concerned the amount of fuss they make about Smokers, they should also start making about Drinkers.

enjoying a drink is one thing drinking to excess is quite another however i was born in the uk and the problem there is far from a new one ,the social habit of the Pubs there may be a quaint idea to outsiders and tourists however i feel the nightly jaunt to these places contributes greatly to the problem !
