A new survey shows that norwegian kids between 11 and 15 are very unhappy with their bodies. Four in ten say they are unattractive. 8 in 10 girls say they want to change something on their bodies. What do you think the cause of this? What may it say about our society?

Social pressure does this. Standards are set where anyone who does not fall on the standard will be looked down by society and this is where misery sets in. What is important though, specially for young people, is that their parents give them moral and emotional support. Parents should show appreciation to their kids despite all their deficiencies. It is there where a person's self confidence grow and unhappiness is eliminated.

Do you think parents can give children enough security and support - so that they do not feel uneasy with themselves? Or do you think we all face these thoughts growing up. We all feel insecure and unhappy with ourself as teenagers?

the cause of it? of course insecurity and popularity. some people want to have a perfectly shaped body, nice faces, etc, etc. nobody is perfect please keep that on mind. what God's gave you is perfect for you. He has the reason. Love all the things that God gave us. you do not have to keep beautiful outside just to cope with the society that you are in. just be yourself.
