Well I have just bought a new laptop with Windows Vista premium on it First, you need at least 1 GB memory for it to run smoothly ... and if you do then it does ... I like the display, the windows previews etc ... it has a modern look and I love the sidebar where you can display the date, a calendar, a currency convertor or just a puzzle ... basically I think they are creating more of those ; you will have tons of handy things at your finger tip BUT that said, I have had a lot of problems with others programs - compatibility - and it is so new the FAQ is not really helpful yet ... I have had bugs and sometimes I need to close all my windows because it all froze, or sometimes I even have to restart My latest problem is about MSN live messenger, I can't seem to get it to work with Vista, and I just don't know why and the FAQ of neither site can help :-( I started a discussion on it, as well, but no solution so far ... Well, to sum up, it is still so recent that all the bugs will take time - and users - to be figured, out and thus gotten rid of On the whole I like it, but I would strongly advise AGAINST the BASIC version, you need at least Premium Hope it helps

My new laptop has Vista. I really can't explain much of the features, I'm not very techinical, but it really runs pretty smooth. I love that if you have several windows open you can get a small preview of your other windows so you know which one you need to open without going through them all. it is expensive, but I think it is worth the cost.

LOL I guess its a difference of opinion. To me the cost was pretty high, but then I'm the kind of person who thinks jeans that cost more than $10 are expensive. :)

Woow WIndows Vista.. what a hot subject i can say. I have talked a lot in my area with many of my friends and all of them had only positive thoughts about it. I can say that i was blow off by this new windows system. Some things certainly lack to it but this new look which Microsoft has incorporated in it certainly do the money you would give for it. I have waited this new system for 2 weeks and here i am using it. It was pretty hard for me to buy it because in my area it can't be found. So i had to ask a friend from another part of my country to order me. I am so happy using it and all i have are only words of gratitdue. I post here a short description about VISTA. Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; some of the most significant include an updated graphical user interface (GUI) and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista includes version 3.0 of the .NET Framework out of the box. The .Net Framework makes it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API.
