What is your favorite trees and why? I like fruit trees because when I am in the mood for fruit I don't have to go to the grocery store to buy them. Also, they attract birds which makes the garden very cheerful.

fruit trees are great and definitely advantageous, but the trees are really like are the flowering trees, i.e Gulmohar (delonix regia) and Amaltas (Casia), here in India these trees are mostly planted along road side and are heavily loaded with blooms, gulmohar bears orange colored flowers, whereas casia contrast with bright yellow blooms from april to june, they definitely look very attractive.

I love Aspen trees. I enjoy sitting on my porch and watching the leaves blow in the wind. And in the fall they turn the most beautiful colors.

My all time fave tree is the King Crimson Red Maple. My dad had 2 in his yard and they were the best ones of the lot. The leaves stay a very deep red thruout the growing season and are a centerpiece in itself. I have a huge spot in my front yard where a tree could grow w/o any problems. Hoping I'll have the money this spring to buy the tree which I've been saving that spot for.

I love any tree that flowers. my neighbor has crabapple trees that are outside our bedroom window. I love looking out in the spring and seeing the gorgeous pink flowers. I also love apple, cherry, and peach trees--just a happy spring bloom that is so cheery. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the fruit, too. I also love catalpa trees. For the same reason. Their blossoms are just so big, and cheery, and the stay around for a long time. Unfortuantely, they don't grow so well here where I'm from. I also like Gingko trees. Their leaf shape is so unique and amazing. I love collecting them when I find them and pressing them in the phone book. (my poor old phone book!)

I like fruit trees too. I plan to have several in my garden as they provide fruit to eat on top of doing the things that other trees do! I also like Acer trees (Japanese maples) The leaves of these trees are beautiful when they turn bright red in the autumn.
