Would you notice if your neighbour died?

It sounds maybe a little morbid. But it is a serious question. I have another discussion about the event when a single mother has died and her 7-year-old daughter did not say it to anybody only after 5-7 days. Another event, when the neighbours found the dead man after 1 year. In Austria a woman locked her three daughters into the dark house (without light, and electricity) for 7 years. The girls come out a few weeks ago. (they do not speak german, they have special own language) I heard that an old lady died, and her son did not speak about it to anybody for years, because he needed her monthly retirement pension. It happened in Hungary too. I am sure, that if one of my neighbours died I would not notice it. Because I do not know them at all. On this floor there are 6 flats. And there are 10 floors. I would only notice the strange silent in the flat under mine, because they are very noisey. Would you notice if your neighbour died, for exampe?

I have actually thought of it weeks ago.I even asked my girlfriend. In our house there are only 4 doors, but there is one, which I have never seen anyone coming out.I was going to ask one of my neighbours if that door belongs to his flat too,he may have 2 doors to his flat, and only uses one. When I said to my girlf what I was thinking about she asked me not to scare her..And when I check the mails in the mornings, there are always weird names on the envelopes, but obviously they must be tennants those have moved out ages ago.Hopefully..

I would notice it. My house is on very quiet street and I know closed neighbors. I like to see my neighbors once a while. If I don't see them, I always ask someone including our mailman.
