Just wondering, as i was sat today and for some reason i remembered the horrible kidnap and mureder of James Bulger, i don't know what made me think of it, as it's something that happened it must be 20 years ago, but it's one of those shocking crimes you never forget, this one i think because it was a 2 year old murdered and totured by 2 10 year olds. What crime that's been commited most sticks in your mind?

The most prolific crime that i remember is the Ian Huntly case, where some (insert numerous expetives here) weirdo caretaker stalked two little girls, kidnapped them, raped them, then murdered them. I think that's probably one of the worst crimes that's happened in the UK for in recent times. He's now a national hate figure, though with good reason! Prison is too good for a man like that, in fact an eternity in Hell is too good for a man like that.

Here, here, well said. He keeps trying to kill himself. I hope he never does though, and he relly does spend his whole life locked up.

Did they find evidence of rape? Mind you considering the other things the sicko did to them it wouldnt surprise me. Can't believe that Maxine was released!

That's the crime(s) i remembered second in line, but i think it happened in the 70's didn't it, so before i was born, hence why i remembered the Ian Huntly case before that one. Crimes against innocent children are always the worst.

Was it really that long ago? I remember it as if it was only a few years ago. For me probably it was a local crime, during the great storm of '87 a guy round the corner was murdered. His body was discovered by the postie. They thought something was up as the curtains were drawn for several days, he went round the back of the house and saw grey matter spattered about. The poor guy had been killed by his wife with a "blunt instrument" which was never found. The woman did him in and then went off to work at the local post office and then off to stay with a friend. I remember this all very well as the police were interviewing everyone who lived within a mile radius wanting to know where we were on that night. The stream outside my friend's office was dredged as it was just down the hill from the post office and they thought she might have chucked the weapon in there. As far as I know the woman is still in Holloway Women's prison in London. The Soham murders rank a close second. We were discussing it in great detail with our tutor as she used to work at Broadmoor (local hospital for the "criminally insane") and she had a lot of dealings with forensics. Quite grisly but also fascinating the lengths people go to to try and get rid of the evidence.

I think I should say the sott peterson'case..I don't know how it ended, since I'm in italy, but I remember it really freaked me out. for those who don't remember it,scot peterson is accused of killing his pregnant wife(who was 27);he said he had gone fishing christmas eve morning, and returned home to find his wife gone. scott was also having an extramarital love affair with a single mom who said she was unaware he was married.they found the corpses of Laci and her unborn child in the san francisco bay....in april
