I'm trying to expand my interests and learn new activities this year during my leisure time. Do you do anything extraordinary or do something your trully enjoy and wish more people would do? Let me know how you spend your leisure time.

There are so many things to do and many are "free" or nearly free. Take a book and go to a coffee shop to relax and read. Or invite a friend you haven't seen in a while and go enjoy their company. Take a free online course. There are quite a few out there to take free of charge and you will broaden your mind! Pick a language to learn, use tapes borrowed from the library to learn and listen to them daily or learn on your own via the net, etc. Take a free course at a local college or university. Most offer some types of free classes if you do not care about receiving credits and just want to learn. Here's some things I do in my "spare" time: 1. Read 2. Cross Stitch 3. Crafting (painting, etc.) 4. Call a friend 5. Pick a room to redesign bit by bit, start with a good solid cleaning out and then redecorate little by little. 6. Go for a walk. The fresh air is wonderful for your body and mind. 7. Winter time I love to enjoy winter events like snowboarding, sledding, inner tubing, etc. 8. Go to a sporting event. My fave is hockey but go to anything from a local high school game to a pro game.

Thanks for your ideas. I enjoy reading, meeting up with friends and doing artsy things like crafts and decorating. I'll look into the (free) courses online. I was getting bored but I see that if you seek you will find. cool. Thanks!

For sometime now, I am into planting woodtrees, fruit trees, and plants of all kinds. It helps the environment a little in coping with the aging it is getting out of its misuse by, should we aptly say, everyone. With the trees now having grown quite big, I can hear, once again, the chirping of the birds around the house, and I can see the thriving population of various lizards and insects.

My mother plants trees too, though I never gave it much thought as fun. Will accompany her and see.. Thanks!

Hi! Well, I really enjoy fishkeeping! Fish are great little critters to have around. They are relaxing and great fun to watch. I have blood parrots, and they are really cool. They are always moving rocks, grabbing them in their mouths and spitting them out, to suit their whims! LOL Funny little things! And it's not as much work to maintain an aquarium as you would think! I think fishkeeping is an awesome hobby! :-)
