4 months..Many people doubted when i told them that until they heard him calling me themselves..!! My nephew stays with my in-laws (which i am too by the way). The parents are not able to take care of him right now, well not yet. I play with him everyday when i got home from work. What can I do teach him words like "Papa" (oh, he can already pronounce the word "Mama" too)..

That's unbelievable! He's a infant prodigy :)) I wonder at what age he will do his first steps?

That's what we thought at first. But after calling a few times, then we were convinced ourselves that it's not just baby talk. Now, he can also calls my husband and my in-laws who take care of him. Seriously, we were all surprised at first.

Oh wow, that is amazing. That's fast. I mean the baby talk. You must be surprised at first. And proud too that he could actually called out your name instead of his father. Usually babies starts talking not earlier than 5 months old. Anyway, you might want to talk to him a lot about his father. Mention the word often and keep reminding him. Anyway, it's always easier to pronounce the word "Mama" compared to "Papa", so not to worry much.

We also have a baby in our house which is my youngest sister's son. He spoke early too but i cant remember how old was he when that happened. But i was really happy when he started calling me by my name even the "tita" was absent. he was able to call me by the last syllable of my name and when he turned one, that's when he was able to put "tita" but only the syllable "ta". but its ok coz its funny and even in the telephone he calls me by that. ^__^ its fun when there's a baby around the house. what's even more funny is when he hears the sound of a helicopter passing by in the skies, he will put his hands up and make any one carry him to see the helicopter outside and he will say "copter". lol

The best ways to teach words to young babies is to keep on repeating it to them and give them lots of claps and smiles when they get them right. Some babies do learn words earlier, but don't be surprised if he is a late walker as a result.
