Have you ever had shingles?

The other day i woke up with a swollen eye which looked like a spider bite. got worse so i went to the doc and as he puts it, it was an allergic reaction to the bite. 2 days later i went to a different doc who then wanted to admit me to hospital as i had shingles! some spider bite.....????i had it all around my right eye, into my hair, behind my ear and into my chest. all along the nerve on my right side. Friggin sore i tell you. i was doped like there was no tomorrow with pain killers. i believe it's the latent version of chicken pox. anyone had shingles before?
