Is it true that when you reach 40 most likely youre a divorcee?

One of my flatmates is already 42 & separated. She is telling me that most of her friends are either divorced/separated/annulled. I am just wondering if its with the age or something else. What do you think?

Honestly I dont think it has to do with the age but more with the times in which we live. It never used to be easy to get a divorce but now people are doing it like it is a fashion fad. My parents are divorced but for a very good reason, my biological father is a very abusive man. But now it seems like people think just because their significant other is not exactly like them, or doesn't like all of their friends that they shouldn't be together anymore. I don't think it has anything at all to do with their ages. The % of people getting divorced is going up but I think that there are more younger people getting divorced than anything else.
