My husband and I are trying to clean up our credit so we can buy our first home. But there are at least 3 different things on our credit that I can't get phone numbers to or the people went out of busniess. So what do I do to get these off my credit report???

If it is something that you believe should be there, ie a credit card with that complany, then it will remain on your credit report for 7 years. Unfortunatly. If it is something you feel should not be there, ie identity theft or a mistake, contact the people who put out the credit report. Like Equifax or Transunion. Who ever you used to get the credit report. they will then file an investigation. But if you really want to clean up your credit, close out accounts. Even if the balance is zero, close it out. If it remains open you have the chance to use that credit and that makes other people nervous.

Contact the credit reporting agencies like trans union or equifax. Some of them even have online disputes. Usually in cases like that, if the company does not respond in like 30 days it will be removed. Another thing is ask the person heling you finance your first home. They should be able to help you do all that. I know like Bank Of America will help you get your credit cleaned up and such.
