To have the Gastric Bypass or not...

I've been in the process of the gastric bypass surgery for over 6 months now. I finally finished all my requirements and was awaiting my insurance letter. It came and I was approved for the surgery, but not at the clinic I started the process at. The nearest clinic that my insurance approves is over 4 hours away. I've been putting all my hopes, dreams, plans, and heart into this process only to find out that if I really want it I have to put myself in yet another finacial hole. So what I am asking is, is the surgery really worth all the headaches? And if I do go though with the surgery, what if I'm still not happy.

I'm not sure what the extra expense is in using a different clinic but if this is somethng yuo want and you have not been able to lose weight any other way then it is probably worth while to do it. You have to remember this is something that will change your life for the better so don't give up.

Thank you first of all of the encouragement!!! The extra expense comes from the trips to and from this other clinic that's four hours away. We are on a "fixed income" right now and just having a running car is sometimes an issue. Let alone the price of gas. So it's not that I have to pay for the surgery it's just being able to get back and forth for the next 2 years for follow up visits and stuff.
