These days I try to get organised early so start buying Christmas presents in January/February if I see something suitable at a price I can afford that is. We usually spend Christmas Day with friends and their families so we buy something small for them - 6 adults and 7 children. Those are only small gifts and everyone spends $10 per person, which is why I buy things when they are on sale or special, as it means we only spend the same amount of money but get things worth a lot more than that. For special friends (2 adults and 3 children),we usually buy one family present plus something small for each of the children. We don't travel at all for Christmas because there are just too many people driving on the road, so we stay close to home. It is hot here in Australia so we have a cold lunch on Christmas Day and that includes cold meats, prawns, lobster as well as salads. I order the meats that we will be contributing a couple of weeks before and collect it on Christmas Eve which is also when I usually start to prepare the salads. :)

wow,a hot christmas, that would be something....maybe it's because this is how i got used to ,but i believe that christmas has more charm in winter, with snow, and watching on the window, seeing the world in white..it's a magic picture..and also the warm feeling of the home, when outside it's freezing and you can warm up inside, next to a fire maybe and a christmas tree...but i guess you like it hot because thats how you always knew it,so it would be interesting if i got the chance to spend a hot christmas also hehe

We tried to spend our Christmas day with family, my and my wife´s parents, and maybe this year with my grandparents. This year it been a very difficult one so we only will buy small gifts for adults and a big present to our son. It´s Christmas time and for my son and my wife I will keep that spirit, so I will dress my Santa´s outfit and give everybody gifts. Oh, Oh, Oh.

Okay, I too live in Australia where it is usually stinking hot on Christmas Day. We usually have roast lamb for lunch at my mums house then go to my partners parents for dinner up in the country. This year is going to be different as it is my sons first christmas and I am so excited. it will also be the first christmas that my sister hasnt brought her family to my mums house, as they want to have a christmas with "their" family this year. pft. I'm still doing most of my christmas shopping now, yes I knwo I leave it until the last minute- I do it every year and every year I say next year I say I'll do it differently but each year its the same... So two months later, what are your plans for this christmas :D?

Christmas preparations in my family are pretty much normal (at least as I understand it). We've put up decorations inside and out. The Christmas tree is up and decorated. Gifts are being purchased, church services planned. We will not be traveling far, although we will have some family visiting from Wyoming. Mostly I enjoy Christ and celebrate his birth. I enjoy the many Christmas hymns, the time with family, the break from work and the food. Merry Christmas to all!

Its easy to prepare, just set a plan and hope all goes well. lol. I have a plan this year. Its going to be a very busy few days. I'm celebrating Christmas with my friends this Friday night. Then on the weekend before Christmas, Saturday we are going to my mom's house and my oldest but wisest(I had to say that, she might be reading this.lol)sister and her husband will be there. It will be the first time in a few years that we have all gotten together. It will also be the first time that my mom has seen one of her greatgrandsons. We are going to exchange presents and probably order a pizza. Then On Christmas Eve, we will go to my boyfriends brothers house and get together with his family. More presents and some good food. Then on Christmas day, we will go over to my son's house and watch my oldest grandson open his presents. He is three. Of course more presents and more good food. I already know that I will eat too much at each event and when it is all over, I will need a vacation.lol
