1. Hamlet False Hamlet = a community of people smaller than a village since the above definition does not mention church, it doesn't mean a hamlet doesn't have a church just that it is very small. Village = Community of people smaller than a town Town = community of people smaller than a city 2. one-sixth of the earth's surface is covered in water FALSE debate that 70 to 75 percent of the earth's surface is covered in water. 3. Australia is the only contry that is also a continent True until the dispute over Antartica can be settled, as Russia, USA, Australia, Chile, and Argentina have all placed claims on Antartica claims that other countries are not recognizing once this dispute is settled then this continent will belong to one or more countries still making Australia the only country that is also a continent or when someone claims Antartica as an independant country with no claims by other nations, then there will be two continental countries, this due to climate etc is highly unlikely 4. French was the offical language of England False Norman French was the offical language of England and used by the upper / ruling classes from the time of William the Conquerer who took the throne on christmas in 1066. The beginning of the hundred years war in 1204 started the decline of the French language. 1362 the Statute of Pleading is the offical recognition of the English language in England, and this was the year Parliment began using the language while in session.
