I've read what the benefits are between the two, but my questions is how can I tell whether my mic is Hi-Z or Low-Z? Is there a visible difference in the connectors or something? Thanks.
You will often find that microphones with a hard wired cable and a 1/4" jack are hi-z
and microphones with a separate XLR cable are low-z. and microphones that are low-z are usually considered better microphones
