opposite attracts

you know i don't understand the meaning of opposite attracts. Can you guys give me an example or a your personal experience about it. some of my friends keeping saying " opposite attracts honey", and i don't get it. Just help me with this guys.

This means when two people who get together where they don't have much in common in what they like to do but get togehter and end up having a really good relationship out of it . Like one person might like to fish and the other person never fished , anything like that . Hope this helps to explain what it means .
