what is the meaning of white lies, is it good or bad. It is helpful or not. give me some situation that by using white lies it leads you to good. i think white lies or lie is bad, that's why it is white. but i think you could give me the real meaning and how to use it...

White lies are lies that are said for good instead of the typically bad. For instance, a Mother was waiting for her son to visit her. This son was supposedly working in another country and she has not seen him for years. Her daughter told a white lie that he is coming back (and then gave some excuses on the actual day) even though he has said nothing of this sort. In a way, this is a white lie because this at least gives the Mother some hope. Even if it is a false hope.
Nevertheless it is still a lie, and the ultimate effects are hard to judge.

i think white are alright because it allows us to be sensitive to other people's feelings in a way that they will not feel offended. we just have to put limitations by not exaggerating things.

White lies i think are told when you dont want to offend someone.Like if i was to ask my friend how does this dress look on me and she tells me "oh its okay,knowing it doesn't.A plain ole lie i think if some says yeah its sunny outside, when its really pouring down raining.
