Unwanted Oldies

Recently I've noticed that more and more people are abandoning their parents by consigning them to a care home or home for the aged. I just don't understand why there are people who opt for this. I mean after all our parents did and sacrificed for us, this is what they got when they reached their old age? A care home where they knew nobody and they get a visit from a family once in a while if not at all? I used to work in a care home for these pathetic senior citizens and I've noticed how lonely they were. How about you, do you have a heart to just dump your oldies to a care home when they reached that stage where you can have no use of them.
