I have been looking for some old songs... I mean really old songs for a very good friend of mine. My friend is 88 years old, and his birthday is coming up soon. He loves the songs from the 1930's and 1940's especially, but these are often difficult for me to find. He loves to sing karaoke, so I have been getting him several of the karaoke ones together as well, but I would also love to get him some of the originals. Does anyone have any suggestions whether for the karaoke versions or the originals?

Hmm.. I have no really good suggestions. I just go to http://esnips.com/ , and I'm not even sure if they have songs from those decades. But I want to greet your friend a Happy Birthday!^^ I'm sure he's really happy. o^_^o

He says thanks for the birthday greetings. I found some songs that I knew he and his wife would enjoy so he got a nice CD full of music for his 89th birthday thanks to everyone who left responses here.

Have you looked on Limewire? You can download them from there and burn them on to a CD. Outside of that, check comic book stores ... don't laugh, they are usually in cahoots with stores that sell vinyl records.

I never would have thought of comic book stores. I have gotten several great songs for him from Limewire though.
