This was on last night only for an hour. Robert Dinero and Joe peshi happen to be in the movie. An Itallian guy trys to hook up with a black woman and all his friends who get killed are against his actions. Interested to know some feedback.

I was born and raised in the Bronx and actually lived for 3 years on Webster Avenue which is where the Black girl lived. That section of the Bronx is known as Little Italy (not at all the same as L.I. in Manhattan) located on Arthur Avenue near Fordham Road. They shot that film in Queens of all places since that section (Astoria) captured the feel for that time era. Astoria is the Greek section of Queens and used to love just drinking a coffee there. What I found interesting in the movie was how Robert Deniro who mainly dates Black women portrayed himself as this old school Italian father telling his son to stick to his own kind. I know he was acting and he did a great job directing the film but it was a bit ironic how he depicted himself. This movie was also a play by Chaz Palminteri who grew up in that section of the Bronx. It was semi-autobiographical of his life. Chaz played Sonny.
